The purpose of this assignment is to establish a basic familiarity with fundamental con-cepts of research methods including literature review, referencing, research design, data collection, quantitative research and statistical analysis, and report writing.

Please select one topic to complete a research proposal. Your proposal should cover the following aspects:

1. the title, author, date, abstract

2. table of contents,

3. the background,

4. literature review (cannot exceed 40% of your text in the proposal)

5. research problem,

6. objectives or aims,

7. the methodology and procedure of the study (data collection, research design etc),

8. expected outcomes and

9. clear research plan with Gantt chart

10. references.

Basic requirements

• The length of the proposal should be at least 4 pages.

• Must use proper latex editor to complete the assignment

• Must use the IEEE Transactions format.

• References must be listed in IEEEtran.bst style.

• Similarity rate: under 30% including the references

(Note: This is entirely different research from Assignment 2. You can choose any topic you like or keep the topic from assignment 2, but need more content.)

Feel free to add or remove some of the sections or subsections to fit your own report.

Criteria (This assignment accounts for 25% of final marks in this subject)
